Grey Squirrel
Sciurus carolinensis

Habitat: Dens inside trees, but will make nests out of leaves.
Distribution (where can it be found)
Almost everywhere east of the Mississippi.
Food: They are omnivorous, and eat mostly acorns, walnuts, and other nuts. They will also eat birdseed from bird feeders hung in people’s yards.
Predators: American mink, weasels, bobcats, birds of prey, lynx, red foxes, and coyotes.
Interesting facts: Grey squirrels often bury acorns to find and eat later, but they frequently forget where they buried them, causing the growth of oak trees. They can run as fast as 20 mph.

Large eyes on either side of head, allowing for a large sight range without moving its head.external image images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRe2L1B6xbo24KosoLVYVliLEqr2_mQxmzIvCS_YotUS70tGfsg
